Pragmatism: an overview

Just bumped into this lecture on the origins, basic tenets, and history of Pragmatism, from Richard J. Bernstein*. It benefits not only from Bernstein’s clarity, but also his evident passion. (Note: Bernstein is in his 80s, and while this has clearly not diminished his capacity for thought, it has led to a slight slurring of speech.) If you want to skip the introduction (and I always do), the actual address starts at about 10:30. It’s a little less than an hour long followed by a fairly interesting half-hour q&a session.
